We're at War, People

Early this morning, 21 Islamic Arab terrorists were arrested in the United Kingdom in an effort to foil a plot whereby the terrorists were planning to mix explosives on perhaps a dozen aircraft or so and blow them up to crash the planes over American cities. Also in the news, eleven Egyptian Islamic Arabs made themselves disappear by pretending to participate in a student exchange program. Three have been caught, but the others are still at large. One should note that at least one of the murderous thugs involved in the September 11, 2001 attack on American civilians did essentially the same thing.

When conservatives start getting riled about how Muslims are treated with kid gloves in this country when it’s Muslims that have been fighting and killing us since the ‘70s; the Left starts whining about profiling, racism, and occasionally they bring up the Concentration Camps into which we rounded up Japanese Americans during WWII. (Author’s note: It was the executive order of one of the principle gods of Liberalism – Franklin Delano Roosevelt – that created the camps.)

Well, I’ve just about had it with the whining and complaining by the Left. I honestly don’t care what they have to say mostly because they have no concern for my safety. They only want to attract votes. I’m convinced of that. Even now, we’re probably going to have the Council for American Islamic Relations (CAIR) come out and defend these Egyptian students as having gotten on the wrong bus on the way to school. You watch. The ones who have been caught are to be deported and all of them have had their Visas revoked. But some “Human Rights” group is going to come out complaining about how we treat people who want to kill us. Something like “It’s inhumane to send these people back home before they accomplish their mission because they might be punished.”

The real question is what to do about it? On the one hand I hesitate to recommend something drastic like the FDR-style concentration camps. During World War II, when the US was fighting an enemy almost as vicious as the modern terrorists, Japanese-Americans were rounded up and sent to concentration camps to live out the war. I don’t have the exact figures handy, but thousands were imprisoned, though none were murdered like those in the Nazi camps at the time. It was a national security measure brought on by a fear that Japanese-Americans might be loyal to the Emperor and either spy for him or commit acts of violence in his name. Of course, there are many examples of bravery and heroism of Japanese-American soldiers serving in both theaters of the war. Those serving in the Pacific Theater did so at great risk to themselves. Had they been captured, they would have been tortured to death as traitors.

While I’m sure that there are a number of Muslims serving in the military now, and that many of them have seen combat, and have served well, we don’t hear stories about the great bravery of Muslim-American soldiers. On the contrary, the only stories that come out are those that have the soldiers deserting, spying, or tossing grenades at other American soldiers. Muslim terrorists claim to be fighting for God (well, Allah, anyway, but that’s another discussion for another day) and they claim it is their duty to kill or subjugate the infidel or kill them wherever they are found. In World War II most Japanese-Americans were Americans who were either from Japan or whose families came from Japan. In modern times, owing to the Left’s theme that it is shameful to consider oneself an American rather than a “Citizen of the World” and considering that diversity and multiculturalism are now expected as basic human rights, Muslim-Americans generally consider themselves Muslims who live in North America. We have seen similar situations in Europe and in the UK and France in particular. There is a lot of talk any time Muslim Terrorists are seen to target the UK about how they are “home grown” terrorists. That is, they are Muslims who were born in the UK. The bunch who were plotting to blow up planes over US soil were all “home grown” in the UK. The “Shoe Bomber” and the murderers of July 7, 2005, were in the same crowd.

So one begins to wonder if the idea of concentration camps is really a bad one. Again, I would NEVER even consider thinking about suggesting anything even remotely similar to the Death Camps of Nazi Germany. I’m not talking genocide, here, folks. What I am talking about is rounding up the ones who are suspected of being involved in terrorism and giving them an enclosed settlement in an unpopulated part of the Midwest. Heck, let them run it under Sharia law, for all I care. Just so long as they stay there and don’t hurt anyone. Yes, the ACLU, CAIR and Amnesty International would whine and complain about violations of human rights, but not one of those groups is on our side in this war.

Of course it would still be impractical, and now that I think about it, I’m not sure I’d want a colony of murderous terrorist thugs inside our borders. Any suggestions (that don’t include mass murder) are welcome. I don’t have any good ideas at the moment.

We’re at war, people. We’re at war with people whose sole aim in life is to destroy our way of life. They believe that in the service of their god, they must conquer the world and kill, convert, or subjugate everyone else. They hate Christians and Jews with a passion exceeding even that of Hollywood. They believe that democracy and freedom are works of Satan and should be wiped out. They do not care if you voted for Bush, Kerry, Nader, or Michael Moore. If you are an American, they loathe you just for that fact. And they would just as soon kill you as look at you. Something needs to be done, and it needs to be done soon.
